Deputy Minister for Administration
Hon. Jenkins O. Atuanya is the Deputy Minister for Administration of the Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy. Appointed in 2016, at the Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy, he supervises the activities of several administrative divisions which include Finance, Procurement, Fleet Management, Public Relations and ICT (Information Communication Technology).
Hon. Jenkins O. Atuanya served as Assistant Minister for Administration of the Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy. Appointed in 2012, Mr. Atuanya was responsible for the coordination of the Ministry’s administrative activities to meet the core objectives laid out for proper management of all sectors of the Ministry.
Mr. Atuanya came to this position as an experienced Administrator having worked for approximately 15 years in the administrative field. Immediately before his ascension to this portfolio, Mr. Atuanya served as Director for Administration & Finance at the Civil Service Agency responsible for the preparation and execution of the budget, supervision of the activities of the IT Division, the personnel office, procurement office, records and archive division, the maintenance and janitorial units, the storeroom as well as the security office. Min. Atuanya also served as Director of Special Projects & Sr. Executive Assistant to the Director General at the Civil Service Agency (C.S.A.), Comptroller of the Civil Service Agency (C.S.A.) amongst others.
Hon. Atuanya holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting (1999) and a Master of Business Administration (2011) from the University of Liberia while he is currently pursuing a LLD at the Louise Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia.
Additionally, the Minister has participated in several seminars and trainings, including GIMPA Sharpening skills in Executive Leadership, MOF –IFMIS Training in International Public Accounting System to increase efficiency in financial reports preparation, World Bank Rapid Result Approach Training for accelerating PRS implementation, PPCC’s Procurement Training to sharpen procurement knowledge in public institutions and a host of other seminars.
